About the KNLTB
The Royal Dutch Lawn Tennis Association (KNLTB) is the umbrella body for the sport of tennis and padel and the tennis and padel associations in the Netherlands. The KNLTB was founded in 1899. Since July 1, 2020, all padel activities are also conducted under the banner of the KNLTB and the KNLTB is the official representative of padel in the Netherlands.
About 1,650 clubs, and thus more than 600,000 tennis players and padel players, are affiliated with the KNLTB. This makes the KNLTB the second largest sports association in the Netherlands. Padel is developing rapidly in the Netherlands. Our country currently has over 75,000 padel players (of which 30,000 at clubs) and over 850 padel courts at 300 locations.
The KNLTB advises and supports boards of clubs on club policies, accommodation and in legal disputes. The association is responsible for national and regional competitions, tournaments, for training teachers and referees. Furthermore, the KNLTB aims to promote the sport of tennis and padel and increase the significance of tennis and padel in society. Finally, the KNLTB guides youth talent on their way to the top and organizes top events such as the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup, Copa de Padel and all national championships.
The KNLTB wants to grow into a socially engaged organization and leading sports association. We act as a guide in tennis and padel country and offer added value to all players, teachers, clubs and other providers. We build a strong tennis and padel community, connecting all parties involved. We do this by promoting tennis and padel in all areas, renewing the offer and moving with the changing needs. For everyone: for the fan in the stands, the coach at the club, the competitive player, the independent athlete, the volunteer, the administrator, the entrepreneur and all those others who love our racquet sports.
Online player profile
Each player receives a playing strength and rating for padel with the Tournament Card. The KNLTB ensures through the Dynamic Playing Strength System (DSS) that you can play matches against players of the same playing level. This way we make sure padel stays fun and exciting! You can use all the information on a player profile and DSS to inform your players.
Participating in tournaments
Playing tournaments is an important part of padel. You get the hang of the sport faster and you also get to know new people quickly and easily. Padel tournaments are organized throughout the Netherlands and there is a tournament circuit for all levels of play. More information about tournaments and playing strengths can be found here.
